My wife has asked me to write this blog entry representative of my sons 1/12th birthday. That is right Jakub has turned one month old, I never considered this a “birthday” age. What do you get someone that is 1/12th? A new video game system of course. (Please keep in mind that my wife has asked me to write this blog entry during the final game of the Stanley Cup Finals, where my Detroit Red Wings have just tied the game 2 to 2 in the third period, 11:52 left to go). It is hard to believe a month has gone buy so quickly. How do you put in words all that has occurred, all that has changed, and how much you fall in love with this little being that does amazingly simple things. (3 to 2 by the way, 9:40 left) So, what have I learned? I wish they sold patience in bottles. I wish there was a way to translate cries. I wish I had a camera for all of the surprise smiles (I know, it is probably gas). I wish they made a baby carrier with a force field for all the strangers that take it upon themselves to touch my boy in public places. You could never predict, with out going through it, what to expect, but you instantaneously fall in love, and even when he is screaming, and than takes it to demon level (yes it comes with horns) it is still all amazing. So happy 1/12th birthday Jakub, only 191 months until you can drive a car, 215 months until you can vote, and 251 months until you have a drink.
