Not to brag, but....

Ok, so I know that I am jinxing us when I blog about this, but Jakub is the most amazing sleeper at night. He sleeps between 6-8 hours straight every night! I can't believe that I actually almost get a full night sleep with a 7 week old baby! After he wakes up in the morning, he then goes down for another nap for 3 hours! Its amazing...I can actually get myself ready for the day! Of course during the day he has to eat about every 2 -2.5 hours to make up for it, but I am perfectly ok with that! I am hoping and praying that he can keep it up, especially when I go back to work in 2 weeks. He loves his baths...I can't wait to he is old enough to go in a pool because he really seems to like the water...notice the bubble devil horns courtesy of Daddy...

Aunt Ag came to visit this weekend to ride up to Rochester with my parents and had lots of quality time with Jakub...

Baba and Dzadzio also came up this weekend to visit...we had quite a full weekend!

First Road Trip!

We had our first road trip with Jakub this past weekend. We traveled to Rochester for cousin Kate's (well 2nd cousin, but who's counting) baptism. Jakub was great traveling...slept the whole way there! Jakub got to meet lots of new people once we got there...there were lots of little ones to keep all of us entertained. It was a fabulous day, the weather was perfect, the food amazing and it was great to see all of the family! Here are some pics to share...more in the photo albums link on the right. Kiersten, I posted some of my favorites from your pictures, too!
At the church for Kate's Baptism

Two of the best things on earth...grandbabies and cake!

I got to hold Kate, the guest of honor!

Cousin Ben picked a flower for both Jakub and Kiersten.

Jay's awesome golf pants

So...when Jay came to visit a couple weeks ago, he showed off his new $100 golf pants. I was looking through the pics on my parents camera and came across a pic of him in his new pants and I just had to share. This pants are Jay in a nutshell....all he needs is the big clown nose and rainbow wig....notice the belt buckle, too.

Great Aunt Sara and Uncle Mike Visit

Aunt Sara and Uncle Mike came to visit Dad/Papa this past weekend and also got the chance to meet Jakub! It was so nice to see them!

Hanging out at Nana and Papa's

So, Dad/Papa is home from the hospital resting comfortably at home. Jakub has been over to visit everyday! Its been fun hanging out with Nana and Papa, playing in the bouncy chair and getting some brand new toys! Jakub is really getting interested in everyone's faces and loves music. He smiles a lot...well, when he is not crying because he is hungry or sleeping!

last week

So, we haven't made a blog entry in almost a week, which is very unusual as of late. Last week was a pretty hectic week. For those of you that don't know, my dad (Amy's) has lung cancer and had major surgery last Wednesday to have his lung removed. The surgery went well and he is slowly getting back to his normal, goofy self. We are not yet sure what the next steps are, whether he will need chemo or not and we are all hoping and praying that it doesn't come back.

He is slated to come home from the hospital today, much to the delight of my mom who will get to wait on him hand and foot for the next few weeks! :) We can't wait either because at least he will get to take a real shower! :)

Anyway, stay tuned for more updates from the Glowczynskis as life starts to get back to normal.

He's a Piggy!

So, we had our one month doctor appointment today. We found out just what a little piggy our little Jakub is! Since his last appointment 3 weeks ago, he has gained an average of 2 oz. a day! According to the nurse, that is twice what babies normally gain a day at his age! He now weighs 10 lbs 9 oz! We were blown away! And to think that we were worried about him eating! He is now 23.5 inches long, too.

Uncle Jay is visiting all week for Dad's surgery tomorrow and has been working from our house. I snapped this pic of Jay working and snuggling with Jakub at the same time that I just had to share!

One month ago today

My wife has asked me to write this blog entry representative of my sons 1/12th birthday. That is right Jakub has turned one month old, I never considered this a “birthday” age. What do you get someone that is 1/12th? A new video game system of course. (Please keep in mind that my wife has asked me to write this blog entry during the final game of the Stanley Cup Finals, where my Detroit Red Wings have just tied the game 2 to 2 in the third period, 11:52 left to go). It is hard to believe a month has gone buy so quickly. How do you put in words all that has occurred, all that has changed, and how much you fall in love with this little being that does amazingly simple things. (3 to 2 by the way, 9:40 left) So, what have I learned? I wish they sold patience in bottles. I wish there was a way to translate cries. I wish I had a camera for all of the surprise smiles (I know, it is probably gas). I wish they made a baby carrier with a force field for all the strangers that take it upon themselves to touch my boy in public places. You could never predict, with out going through it, what to expect, but you instantaneously fall in love, and even when he is screaming, and than takes it to demon level (yes it comes with horns) it is still all amazing. So happy 1/12th birthday Jakub, only 191 months until you can drive a car, 215 months until you can vote, and 251 months until you have a drink.
