Merry Christmas!!

Jakub had a fabulous 1st Christmas! Santa must have thought that he was a very good boy this year because he got lots of great toys! His first present was a Fisher Price grand piano that he loves! Present opening took all day with a few naps and meals in between. We all had a great time and ate lots of food. Merry Christmas to all!

We took Jakub for his Christmas photo shoot a few weeks back and finally got the pics back a few days ago. The whole experience wasn't that great...they were very hurried, tried to make us buy $5000 worth of photos, etc, etc. Poor Jakub really didn't have a chance to get comfortable and smile. I think I am definitely going to have someone come to us for photos next time so the little guy enjoys it a little more. Here are a few favorites...

Jakub is famous!

Santa!

Jakub had his first visit with Santa today! The OP Fire Company had their annual kids Christmas party. He did really well until he actually looked at Santa, so as long as we had him facing out and looking at us, everything was ok. Santa gave Jakub 2 neat new toys to play with!

Happy Birthday!

Today was Uncle Tim's and mom's (Aunt Patti's) birthday party in Rochester. We traveled from all over to Rochester to celebrate. It was so great to see everyone! Kiersten snapped some really great shots of the day. Thanks for sharing!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from the Glowczynskis! We had a great day, with Jakub, of course, being the center of attention at all times. Uncle Jay got him a "buffalo" hat that he really didn't seem to mind wearing. Jay had a matching hat, too...

All in all it was a great day - great food, family and fun!

Jakub loves his perch above the dog's food bowls. He gets a kick out of watching them eat as well as throwing his toys down on them and into their bowls ( I think just to see if we will pick them up for him). He gets as close as he can possibly get without climbing out of his chair....

Trying out Mommy's highchair

My mom saved the highchair from when I was a baby...a commemorative 1976 bicentennial wooden chair that has always been in her house since I was born. Jakey loves sitting in it...well, most of the time. He likes the loud noise that his toys make on the wood tray and he loves sitting up at the same level as the rest of us at the table.

Doctor visit

Jakub had his 6 month doctor visit yesterday. He wasn't so sure of the doctor and nurse this time...little bit of stranger anxiety. He weighed in at 18lbs 11oz and a whopping 29 1/8 inches. 7/8 of an inch more and his is too big for his infant car seat! At least we got 6 months out of it. He was not too happy about the shots, either, but like usual he was a trooper and got over it after just a few minutes. He was happy to see Grannie Lois and so was Nana, who came along on this visit with us.

6 months old!

Jakub was 6 months old yesterday! Wow..how the time flies. I can't believe he is half a year already! He is sitting up pretty well now, only falling to the side or the back every so often. He is a great eater...we've tried everything and so far his favorite is pears. He isn't too keen on the chicken and turkey or peas, but I don't blame him because the baby food version of chicken and turkey smells like cat food!

Also this past week Thursday, Slawek got Lasik surgery! I am super jealous and can't wait to do it next year. In the appointment the day after the surgery, the doctor told him he has 20/20 vision...amazing! He was so excited to be able to buy cheap sunglasses that we had to get a $5 pair from one of the vendors while we were tailgating for the Bills game on Sunday! The glasses are super ghetto fabulous!

Happy Halloween from Jakub the Pumpkin! Jake and I went to visit Nana at school to see all the kids and teachers dressed up for the holiday. The only time Jakub got upset was when a lady with whiskers drawn on her face came up to him. It was so cute.

Well...more like trip to the table of pumpkins that were left over when I finally got my butt in gear to bring Jakub to go get a pumpkin. Nana came, too, for our short trip. We just had to take a pic of Jakub and his "prize" pumpkin amongst the scarecrows...see if you can pick him out of the crowd!

Jakub is already fascinated with techie devices. He can't get enough of my blackberry or the camera or the tv remote! Whenever we pick up one of these he drops everything that he is doing and wants to play with our stuff. All that I can say is that I am glad the blackberry has a lock keyboard feature because everyone on my contact list would have been prank called by Jakub already!

Trip to Erie and fun times at the Davis's

Last weekend Jakub and I went with Nana and Papa to visit Aunt Ag & Aunt Jane in Erie, Pa. The leaves were changing nicely as we got to enjoy along the way.

Little smarty pants...

Our little smarty pants is learning how to sit up! He topples over every so often, but all in all doing a fine job. He also loves "standing" and gets very mad when you don't help him do it! :)

Its Been Too Long!

Ok...so we haven't posted in awhile...September just flew by! Jakey is now 5! months old. I can't believe it! He is getting bigger by the day. He loves to laugh and babble the day away. He is still sleeping like a champ, 12 hours through the night Everyone always says he looks much older than he really is...but I am not sure how I feel about that...my little baby growing up too fast! We are visiting in Michigan this weekend and got to spend some time with Grandma (Baba) before heading off to bed tonight...here are some shots!

Rolly Poly!

Jakub rolled over! Well, he actually did it for the first time on Sunday, but only Nana witnessed it, so he officially rolled over for us today at approximately 5:20pm then again at 5:21! We were so excited when he did it, we cheered and clapped and basically scared him into crying... :) He was so confused...it was so cute! I wish we could have caught it on video!

It was a very big day for him today...he also had his 4 month doctor appointment. He is officially a very tall little boy...measuring 27" long! That is 97th percentile folks. It explains why he keeps out growing his little footie sleepers so fast! He is weighing in at 16 lbs, so he is a lean baby....The cutest part of the whole appointment was when they had me "sit" him on the edge of the table to do is little knee reflexes. So cute! I am not sure why I thought this, but I didn't think that little babies legs would pop up just like an adult when you hit their reflex on the knee! He definitely didn't like the shots, but took them like a pro....

Go Bills!

We were psyched for Bills season this year! We got season tickets and we so excited to use the new bus to tailgate...except for the fact that we couldn't get insurance for the bus yet! Either way, we had a great time at the game today, even though it rained the Bills kicked Seattle butt! We got to try tacos in a bag for the first time and I sported my Kelly throwback jersey!!

Boiler up!

Jake is all ready for his first season of Purdue football! Even though we probably won't get to see many of the games here in Buffalo, he will be rooting in spirit!

FOOD!

So, Jakub tried some solid food this weekend! Well, as solid as you can call rice cereal at least. I would say we had about a 50% success rate with about half of it ending up on his bib. Given the way that rice cereal tastes, I am not sure I blame him. He seemed to like the spoon, especially when it "made noises" on its trajectory into his mouth. Here are some timeless pics.... BTW...I (Amy) only approved this bib because he just doesn't have a Buffalo Bills one yet!

Our Little Bug is 4 Months!

On Tuesday, Jakub is 4 months old!! We can't believe how fast the time has flown. He is growing so fast, in 9 month old clothes already! He is such a happy little baby, babbling away. He loves flowers and trees and long walks with Nana. He also has really taken to his new nanny, Lindsey. We think he is getting ready to roll over pretty soon...he gets about half way there and gives up. :) Here are some pics from his 4 month old photo shoot...
